It appears we have a few here. Embrace your drama geekness and list your shows and what part you played.

Me:

High School:

Arsenic and Old Lace (set construction, spotlight op)
Little Shop of Horrors (stage lights)
Barnum (stage lights, stage manager)
Grease (stage lights)

Professional:

Leader of the Pack (lights)
Cheaters (all stage crew, all props, lights)
Delancey Street (all)

I was involved in about 12 shows in high school - I will not list the shows or the parts because it would totally reveal my identity to potential lurkers

In college I only did West Side Story (I was a Jet girl), Jesus Christ Superstar (I was a hot prostitute and a dancer) and this obscure weird show called MacRune's Guevara where I was a white slave (prostitute/belly dancer) and some hag old woman.

Gave up the acting and the singing because I wasn that good at it anyway

Hmm. I only did it in high school.

9th grade- Godspell- random, background chorus
10th grade- Cinderella- random, background chorus
11th grade- Leafer of the Pack- best show ever. I was one of the 6 backup singers- best costumes, HUGE amounts of stage time, so much fun.
12th grade- Crazy for You- Mrs. Fodor. I got to sing a song.

I ran props.

Ooh- in 10th grade, I wa sin a Kids for Kids production of Annie, I played Mrs. Pugh, the maid. I had 1 line. I'm so famous.

High School:

Camelot - Lady in Waiting and featured dancer

Midsummer Nights Dream - I played the 'Wall' that had a hole in it.

Oklahoma! - Dancer / Singer

Damn Yankees - Student director

Once Upon a Mattress - Lady in Waiting

Arthur Miller's Playing for Time - I had a role as the Nazi concentration camp leader. All the girls hated me and I was killed in the final act. It was a very controversial show at my school.

Alice in Wonderland - The Duchess. It was the coolest role. I spoke in a weird accent and always spoke in rhymes.
'Speak harshly to your little boy/and beat him when he sneezes/he only does it to annoy/because he knows it teases.'

I can't remember them all!!

I didn't do any in High school or college (I had to work ) but I loved it, and was involved in every production my elementary and JHS's put on.

a few classics:

elemetary School:
a HUGE production of the Wiz in the second grade. I was head munchkin. we performed it at the biggest auditorium in Park Slope. talk about stage fright!

Cindereilly (a take on cinderella for St. Paddy's Day.) I was Cindereilly herself...chose the poor Prince of Potatoes OVER the King of Westmuffinland...what was I thinking

JHS:
Our Town
Little Women- played Marmie- I was fat. lost out to the skinny lanky girl for the role of Jo.
The Poet and the Rent: Gene, the robber

all sorts of Holiday shows.

I really loved it. Almost went to LaGuardia HS of the arts (Fame).

My dream school when I was a kid

My drama couch worked with me for weeks on my monlogue. I chose an excerpt from Nuts (I love from the Sun, the moon, and back again..)

but a few days before the audition, my mom told me that she couldnt' take me, and that my dad would.

at the time, I couldn't stand to be with my dad for more than 2 seconds, so I skipped the audition.

huge mistake, and the last time I ever let anyone I didn't like or felt uncomfortable with dictate what I do, or where I go.

great...this thread SUX!

Man, that is such a bummer. You must have been pretty good.

I wasn't the BEST at the acting stuff. I was a much better singer. Plus I could learn to dance very easily. I didn't have any formal dance training but if you showed me how to do it, I could repeat it. That was back when I was skinnier and coordinated.

Didn't you get the FM? We are the entertainment portion of the GTG. Be prepared to sing or perform a skit. LOL

Omfg I forgot... Is there a common play that we've all done? Although I never performed on stage, I always sang along from wherever I was. I could ruin a song with the best of em.
