No I don't know anyone who go0t a wedding dress made. A friend of mine did get her senior formal dress made and I thought it came out great but that's a totally different area.

I would post this on the BHB board. Maybe some girls who have already gotten married did and they could let you know which seamtress they used and you can see their dresses.

I don't know anyone who had a dress made either.
But if you do decide to choose that route I am so excited to see how it comes out! Sorry that's not helpful. :)

Re: dress

personally i would take the dress that has the most elements you like and add/subtract from that because making from scratch there's really no guarantee that it will come out how you want, and then in the end it'll just be your word vs the seamstress's which is not a fun situation

I don't have any personal experiences, but Solotu bridal in St. James is supposed to be great. Good Luck!

I do not know anyone that has had a dress made either. For me, I would think its too risky. Alterations are one thing, but creating something seems like too much of a gamble.

There are a million dresses out there and I think you will find your dream dress!

Re: dress

My best friend had her mother make her gown (she is an amazing seamstress and made all her sisters dresses). I know she found an exact photo of the Amsale dress she wanted and gave it to her mom. She really didn't do anything too different from the photo she found and I know she saved a TON of money and got the dress she wanted. But I don't know anyone who has had one made around here. I might be nervous about getting someone I didn't know to make it

I had my dress made for prom and it was a MESS. Im a little too scared to put my dress in the hands of someone that I hope will mke the perfect dress for me. Um...I don't think so.

But if you are interested in getting your dress made to have the PERFECT dress for you...go for it!!
