Last Thursday, I went dress shopping for the first time and fell in love with one of the first dresses I tried on. I went to a bunch of stores today and still kept thinking back to that original dress.
So, I decided to take my mom (who had already seen it) and my aunt back to the first store tonight and they are both absolutely in love with it. The only thing is...I was just informed that the dress is going to be discontinued and the designer is only taking orders on it for 5 more days!!
Do I go my gut and order this dress even though ideally I would have liked to look at a few more places? My wedding isn't until August 2010 so I'm confused. I LOVE the dress but just worried I'm making a decision too soon. On the other hand, what if I forego this dress and never find something I like as much.

i would spend the next few days at other salons, the 2010 lines are out so youre good with that, and the go back to the first place if your sure about the first dress, but it souns like your pretty sure pf yourself just look around so you dont tell urself what if

I say go for it!
My wedding is Aug 2010 as well and I fell in love with the 1st dress I tried on and ordered it! My mother, aunt younger sister, MOH and two BM's loved the dress as well. I made everyone who was avalible see the dress before I ordered it only a few days later.
Seriously I only tried on 2 dresses. As long as I don't go shopping again 'just for fun' and try on other dresses I'll never know if I there was a better dress. And at the same time, I can't go back and say ' i really should have ordered that one' if/when I don't find 'the' dress.

That's what I was thinking...the only thing is our engagement party is this Saturday and other than for a few hours tomorrow, I have no idea when I'll have time to go to lots of other stores.
P.S. Just made plans to bring my MOH back tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll be able to make a final decision then.

try and go to a few more salons in the next few days and compare other dresses to the one you love. it sounds like you really love this one particular dress the best. i can't tell you want to do, but if you really love the dress then get it.

are you sure they are telling you the truth and not making this up to try to pressure you into buying now? i would call around, or call manufacturer...

I agree. Maybe look up on the designer's website and find other stores that carry the dress and ask them if the dress is being discontinued?
On another note, I fell in love with my dress the first time I went dress shopping. It was the last dress I tried on and I didn't order for over a year later. I went to 2 or 3 other salons because I didn't think I should go with the first dress I fell in love with without going to other stores, but I soon realized that in going to the other stores all I really was doing was comparing other dresses to my dress. So I say go for it and get the dress.

Yea I say order it. If you found a dress your in love with then why does it matter to go around and drive yourself nuts comparing other dresses to the dress you know you love?
It will be one less thing to worry about and to be honest, its one of the most important things! Some girls still cant find their dress and they are getting married a lot sooner than you, ya know? What do you think your missing out on by buying this dress? The hassle of going to salons OVER and OVER again? Trying on 100 dresses to find yourself saying UGH I dont like anything anymore than that 1st dress I had? If it were me I would get it and get it out of the way so I can do whateva I need to next.

I would go with your gut..if the dress was YOU..looked great on you...and you LOVE it... i would go for it.
I thought it would take me FOREVER to find a dress.. the first day i went.. i tried on about 20 dresses... finally i put one on...and just said 'WOW!!'... it was the only one that made me say that when i put it on...so i got it....people tell me it looked like a million bucks on me... (that's how i definitely knew it was the dress..because it was actually under $700 -- so if it looked THAT good on me...it was the one!!)

I agree, I say go for it. I too ordered my dress from the first salon I went to. I knew what I didn't want in a dress & wasn't so sure what I did want. My dress was the last one I tried on. After I ordered it, I second guessed myself & started making myself nuts. I went back to visit the dress & still loved it. Always trust your gut! Remember, this is supposed to be a great time in your life, not a gut wrenching one! I would love to see a pic of the dress!

I ordered my dress for my August '09 wedding in mid-March 2008. I just knew it was THE dress and I haven't second guessed the decision. If you're sure it's the one you love, I say go for it.
ETA: I bought my dress at the second store I went to on my first and only day of dress shopping. Some things you just know!

Wow, I love that dress! I agree to call the manufacturer to verify it is being discontinued.. and if it is, get it since you really love it! And don't look at anymore dresses after that!

Get it get it get it!!!! The dress is beautiful. And if you don't get it you might always regret it. Worse comes to worse you can always resell it on here or ebay if you find something you like better. I ordered my dress in Oct '08 for my May '10 wedding and don't regret it.

Beautiful dress. Clean, classic lines.
If this is your 'WOW' dress and you feel absolutely gorgeous in it, the order it and don't make yourself crazy looking for others.
No rule that states you have to look at a gazillion dresses before you find the one.

go for it, worst case scenario, you don't like it later on... you sell it and buy a new one. but i think that because you are so inlove with it... and you had that FEELING it's the right one.

the dress is gorgeous!!!!
Definitely call the manufacturer to make sure the store isn't pulling your leg. Some places will say anything to make a sale!!!!!
