Dress Alteration Question

How soon before the wedding should I begin my 1st alteration? The dress came in last week, wedding is in June - I am NOT planning on losing weight for the wedding, so my body will probably remain as is. I do lose about 5 pounds after the winter naturally (I call is 'shedding my wingter coat' ) but that shouldn't make a difference - so when should I do this?

Also - do I need my shoes before I alter? That means I need to buy shoes ASAP, right?

Also - are BM dress alterations cheaper then bridal alterations?

i would suggest getting shoes before u get your dress altered so the hem will be right.

my dress isnt coming in until march and the wedding is in may and it doesnt take that long to do alterations.

i would wait until it's a bit closer to your date just incase.......

also, the closer the better. unless you're making major design changes, hemming doesn't take very long.

Call the store and ask them. My place told me the first alterations will start six weeks before the wedding which make me nervous, it doesn't seem like enough time. She told me to have my shoes by then so they know how much of a hem and stuff they need to do.

I'm not sure about BM alterations as far as pricing goes.

You need shoes before the fitting (otherwise the hem will be off)

My wedding is March 11th, and I had my first fitting Jan14. All I need is the chest taken in and the dress shortened, so nothing major. I have one more fitting on Feb 25.
