Dress alterations/tailors?

Dress alterations/tailors?

Does anyone know of a good tailor on long island or maybe queens and generally how much alterations cost for wedding gowns?

I'm debating on whether or not to get a sample gown from online and if its worth it.

Can I bring in a dress which I haven't bought at a store, for example David's bridal or kleinfelds, to get altered in those stores?

I took a BM dress for my friend's wedding to My Daughters Wedding in Great Neck last week. I'm sure they are going to do a great job, but I believe they charge more for 'outside' dresses. FM if you want and I can give you more details.

I took my dress to EZ couture in Forest Hills on Austin st. They gave my BM a great price for altering her dress...and my dress was a decent price as well. It's a small place, but hear they do good work, and my bridal boutique sent me there.
