Dress Buying Anxiety

Sooo...

A few weeks ago, I posted about finding what I thought was the dress. I even posted pics of it in my album (which will probably only stay up for another few days because of what I'm writing in this post). I thought it was 'the dress', and even said that it was everything I thought I didn't want.

Well, I've had time to sit on it, and I'm just not sure I can pull the trigger on this dress. I really always saw myself in a tulle ballgown with a train. This dress is neither of those things. I did think it was beautiful. I think that it was the first dress that looked good on me even though it wasn't the right size, and that made me feel good. But I also know that whatever dress I pick, as long as I'm measured correctly, it will fit me when I get it.

I know that I have plenty of time, more time than most people who go dress shopping. But I basically can't go looking unless it's during the week for the next 6 weeks due to other commitments.

I've been doing some more research, and I've been thinking about the Lazaros I've tried on, and I don't know how to decide!! I know I should count myself lucky to have so many choices, but it's overwhelming!!

Any advice or suggestions would help!! Talk me down off my ledge!!

Well, I know exactly how you feel. I already bought my dress and I am having second thoughts about it now! I plan on trying on other dresses because maybe it's just a feeling and it will pass, but if it doesn't pass then I guess I will be buying a second dress and trying to sell the one I already bought. With that said, if you're having second thoughts then don't buy the dress just yet. Keep on trying dresses until you're sure of what you want. It's better to have second thoughts on a dress that you haven't bought then to have them after you've already bought it.

I was kinda the opposite. I didnt see myself in a huge ballgown at all but im obsessed and in love with my dress. I figured its the only time in your life you can 'go big' You have plenty of time. Definitely check out a bunchmore gowns especially ballgowns. You will definitely find the one you love. If you keep thinking back to this one then youll know. This dress is beautiful too but you have to find one youre sure of. Good luck!

I agree. You have time to look so take that time to really think about it.

I would keep looking if I were you. I found the one about a month ago but haven't had the time to order it yet. I'm finally going tomorrow. During that month, I did look at other wedding dresses online but I just kept going back to the one I tried on. I think if you have any doubt in your mind, you should keep looking. You still have plenty of time!

Keep looking.. Like someone else said, if you keep looking and you keep going back to it, then you'll know!

Agree. And in regards to the ball gown, I say go big or go home. You will never wear a ball gown again so if that's what you really want, go for it.

Try not to stress, you have plenty of time & you will find the perfect dress! Don't commit just yet, because you might regret it later and have to go thru the process all over again. Go with you gut feeling..you will know when its the right dress, and you will look beautiful in it no matter what style it is! And I love Lazaro dresses!!

You will definitely find the right one! Keep looking and find the one tag doesn't make you second guess yourself. You may actually end up back with the original but you may just need further confirmation. This is what I'm most nervous about with dress shopping - thinking I found the one and then second guessing myself!

And thanks for the words of encouragement from everyone!! I spoke to my mom and were going to go dress shopping together some more, just she and I, so I don't get overwhelmed and I can just have her opinion and mine to contend with.

I had the same thing happen. luckily I started to re-fall inlove with my dress and keep falling deeper! can't picture my day without me in it. just browse around and see how you feel! you'll know when it's right
