I need help...I'm not getting married until next Nov. 2006 but I have tried on some dresses partly for the fun of it and partly beacuse my sister works in Macy's Bridal. I tried on this dress my sister wanted me to see...and I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT...I can't stop thinking about it and I want to get it but... I'm worried that I'll change my mind by this time next year and be upset that I jumped so fast to buy something. Am I thinking like this because its the first one out of the ones I tried on that I like???
I'm most likely getting the gown at Macys because of my sister...so I'm limited to those desginers...I wasn't crazy about alot of the gowns they carry...neither is my sister (shes a fashion major)
Do I just get it and try my hardest not to look into what comes out between now and next year...
Heres the dress...its a Marissa gown..it has lace going down the front (2 panels) as well as the back...
If it's the one you'll know it. Look around a bit though outside of Macys. I know your sister works there but maybe your one and only is sitting on a rack somewhere else.

Re: Dress Decision
This is my dress!!! So naturally I feel it's beautiful. I knew this was the dress the minute I put it on, so go with your gut!

Re: Dress Decision
I'd keep looking because when I first started looking I really had something very specific in mind...once I opened myself to different style dresses I was amazed at what I found!

The dress is nothing close to what I wanted...I wanted big ball gawn with the 'pick me up flowers' like Kevin Costners wife wore...thats why I was surprised when I put it on and I loved it...

Re: Dress Decision
Nope, I say wait and look around some more before deciding on this gown.
A) There's still alot of time for you to change your mind or see something you like better
B) Many brides on here have bought their gowns too early and then had second thoughts, or ended up getting another dress completely (and losing all the money they put down on the first one), or hating their gown, etc etc.
Good luck and keep shopping!! Trying on all those beautiful gowns is one of the best parts of being a bride to be -- why rush it to be over??

Re: Dress Decision
If you REALLY love it - order it now. B/c the first thing the saleswoman told me in Bridal Reflections is that Marisa is know for 'discontinuing' her gowns.......You may not be able to get it when you're ready to order

Re: Dress Decision
that is indeed a beautiful gown. go with your gut feeling. I know that out of all the dresses that i have looked online this marisa is by far one of my favorites, but will see how does it look when i try it.

Re: Dress Decision
Since you have the time-I'd look around more-if that is really the one-you'll know but it's nice to try on others-maybe something else will catch your eye-good luck and have fun!!!

Re: Dress Decision
i would go and try on some more dresses before buying this one. i went dress shopping a little early and bought the first dress i fell in love with and within a few months i bought another one, because i didnt try on a bunch of different styles before i bought the first one. you still have plenty of time. dont limit yourself to just macy's, go to other salons and try on more dresses.

Re: Dress Decision
I say look at a few more and then go with your gut. Sometimes looking at other ones just reaffirms the one you loved in the 1st place.

Re: Dress Decision
its very pretty, but i would hold off.
There are a number of brides who have purchased dresses early and end up buying a 2nd one months later, because they either found another one they loved, changed sizes, or just didn't love it anymore

Re: Dress Decision
I say wait too....since your sister works there she should be able to keep an eye on the dress and can give you a heads up before it is gone....then you would be forced to make a decision, but you shouldn't rush yourself...
