Dress Decisions and where to get it-Kleinfeld or Wedding Salon of Manhasset?
Hey Gals, First of all...Hi!! This is my first post..
I had a great experience at Wedding Salon of Manhasset with my sales lady RoseMary (Love her!!) While I went browsing and trying on a few weeks ago, a lot of styles looked great and I left there thinking 'mermaid or trumpet', but now 3 weeks afterwards I'm thinking 'Ballgown'.. Is this even normal??
Anyhoo, I'm going to Kleinfeld Sept 25 (so beyond psyched!). A coworker of mine used to work there and she recommended a few people to me, and everyone she has referred there has gotten between 10-15% off their gowns). Here's my question: Are the prices the same at both dress shops? I plan on negotiating prices at both places, however I work 2 blocks from Kleinfeld in the city, so doing fittings there would be SO much more convenient. Should I go back to wedding salon and price out my new 'top dresses' so I have bargain power at Kleinfelds or what? PS I'm attaching the top 2 dresses for your opinions. Any help you can give is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!!

Because its so convinient for you ....I would go with Kleinfelds....HTH

one or two 08 girls wore the first dress, try posting on 08 and see if you can get some feedback from them? i've heard wonderful things about both of those salons but i didnt go to them personally =)

No preference between them, but Kleinfeld's wants TWICE as much for my dress as I bought it for here in VA. I'm not sure the prices in NY won't be similar to one another, but honestly, I found it unreal that it was literally 100% more expensive because it's Kleinfeld's.

I have been to Kleinfelds twice. My sisters wedding and now mine. She hit the jackpot with hers and I did not.
I think the prices are a little higher at Kleinfelds. Your 1st dress I believe is a Kenneth Pool- right?
I think its a whole package deal- You should go to Kleinfelds and see what you find. If you decide on a dress and the price is the same - you should go with whomever made you feel the best and have a great overall experience.
Dont know about your budget but if experience is the same and price is the determining factor- then you with the lesser of the two.
You cant go wrong with either place.

I have the first Kenneth Pool DEGAS dress....I LOVE it. It is my dream dress!!! I got it in Manhasset and they were wonderful. I heard that they will match any price so if the other place has it cheaper I am sure they will match it. You have to do what will be easiest for you. Good luck!! FM me if u have any questions!!

i personally don't have experience with either of these places but i just wanted to say that i LOVE both of these dresses, their gorgeous.

I am sure you will have a great experience at either place...they both have wonderful reputations. I ordered my dress from the Wedding Salon, and so far I have gotten nothing but the best service possible. I even got 15% off my dress because they were having a trunk show with Kenneth Pool. The first dress you posted is a KP and I tried it on, it is gorgeous. Price around both stores, and see if the Wedding Salon is having a trunk sale any time soon!! Good luck, both dresses are gorgeous!

I never went to either salon but definitely try to negotiate! I love dress #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, Kleinfelds is more expensive because of the experience. But, if it's convinient for you go for it!

My dress is the second one and my best friend, moh getting married sept 12th is the first dress.
Oh and I purchased my dress at wedding salon of manhasset. I did not have a good kleinfelds experience. Also at the wedding salon you get 20 % off your bridesmaids. I loved them there. My best friend got her dress at Amsale.

I got my gown (the first one) Degas, at wedding salon of manhasset and had a wonderful experience with them from start to finish. I was there often, for fittings, and for my veils and headpiece. They always treated me so well, when i called they immediately knew who i was.
I called them last week about getting a price to steam my dress because i am doing a day after shoot next month, and they told me to bring it in, its Free of charge.
They really take care of their brides. I miss going there, and am so happy to have an excuse to go there again!!!!!!
I was able to negotiate the price, and the alterations, Amsale in nyc offers the best price for alterations and they matched it, actually it was cheaper than what amsale charged.
I also went to Kleinfelds and had a great experience. It was just not convenient for me. I had quiet a few fittings and didnt need the hassel of getting to and from nyc. Plus to park is a fortune.
I think that either way, you will get personalized service. I felt that i had great service at kleinfelds. but i went with wedding salon.

Girls you rock!!!! I think what I'm gonna do is go to Manhasset mid September to try on gowns again (although I don't plan on utilizing the full hour and a half) and scope out prices. My appointment at Kleinfeld is the end of September so I will have some bargaining power. I'll keep you posted. Thank you!!
