How much of a deposit should I be prepared to make when I order my dress?

My deposit was 50%.

ETA: we paid check. Lillette's only takes cash or check - no credit cards.

yup, mine was also 50% of the cost of the dress

everyplace i have gone to said 50%...i think kleinfeld is 60%

50%, cash or check. Which was fine, because I don't put a lot of wedding stuff on credit, and when I do, I pay the balance in full.
