I've been having dress dilemmas lately and have been asking for a lot of advice lol....
So, I put a deposit down for a dress, but didn't order the dress yet (I'm supposed to be going in November to get my measurements). I really want to go back to try on a couple more dresses from the same designer...just to see if I like any better from her Spring 2012 collection. In the end, I may very well end up with my initial dress.
My question is, are bridal salons okay with this?? I don't want my deposit back. If anything, I'd put it towards the other dress I want. Has anyone ever done this??

Re: Dress Deposit
Are you sure it hasn't been ordered? I've never heard of giving a deposit for something that wasn't ordered
If this is the case, though, I'm sure you can choose something else

Re: Dress Deposit
I did exactly this!!! I put a deposit down on Maggie Sottero - Jenna in May 2010 and they told me to come back in January 2011 to get measured and order my dress. Well I started second guessing my dress so I went back and ended up ordering Maggie Sottero - Kendra. The place was totally fine with it and applied my deposit to the new dress

Re: Dress Deposit
I did this as well.
I put a deposit down on a tress in April, to get the trunk show price, and I didn't order it until July.
Between then, i had second thoughts and went in to try on a few others, and ended up with my original dress.
They should be fine with it! They don't order the dress until half of the $ has been received and you've been measured. In the event you do switch your dress, the store is still getting that deposit money.

Re: Dress Deposit
your really just putting a deposit down insuring that you will come back to that store, I dont think it matters if you change your dress bc they havent ordered anything for you yet because you have so much time! Good luck! hope everything works out

Re: Dress Deposit
If you haven't been measured, then there is no way they could've ordered it. They definitely don't mind though- as long as they are getting your money SOMEHOW, they are happy!

Re: Dress Deposit
Yes, positive we didn't order the dress. Sounds crazy, but since my wedding is pretty far away, I told them I wanted to wait to measure myself so I can lose a few more lbs hahah...hopefully be a dress size smaller.
Just wasn't sure if this was an issue and I didn't want to make a big deal at the place about trying other dresses on.
I also found out the designer I want is having a trunk show in a few weeks...but doubt I can get the trunk show prices
