So Im getting a custom dress from a designer I love!!!!!! anyways she is great and all but she got my wedding date wrong. Instead of writing into her computer that my wedding is 6/5/11 she put 6/5/10. she called me in March saying the dress is ready for me to come for first fitting. i was kinda upset but excited bec im so anxious to actually try it on!!!!! the sample i tried on wasnt my size.
anyways I was going to go in August for first fitting and then not go for second until probably 2-3 months before wedding. My questions is should i go in August? some telling me do it and some like my mama telling me to wait .

i think you should wait to do the actual fittings ... but you can always go just to visit

just go and try on your dress, wait for fitting till your closer to you wedding date, like2-3 months before

i went to try my dress on last weekend and had a hair trial before i went
that way i got a whole idea if i liked the hair with the dress and got a head piece and earrings too.
i see no harm in trying it on once and making sure you like the way all the pieces fit together

I would definitely do to try it on just to check out the dress, make sure everything looks correct (since it's custom made) and then schedule your first fitting for close to the wedding date. You have no idea what's going to happen between now and your first fitting.

if your wedding isn't until 2011 i would wait until 2-3 months before the wedding to start the fittings. to much can happen from august to june
