dress dilemma

i'm trying to decide whether i should buy my bridal gown on long island, or where i'm going to be working (chicago). i'm going to be moving to chicago august 14th, and i'll be student teaching there through mid-end of april. my wedding is 5/29, so I don't know if it would be better for me to have my fittings in chicago, or when i come home to ny in april. i'll be able to fly home over thanksgiving, and for 10 days over christmas break, but those are my only breaks until i finish my student teaching in april. what should i do? how many weeks before the wedding are your final alterations usually completed?

Hmm do your alterations where it is EASY for you to get to the place where your gown will be. You don't want any added stress ya know? Im believe the final fitting is usually done 2-3 weeks before your wedding day HTH

that helps a lot, thanks! i'm just going to buy my dress in ny since that's where the weddings going to be. worse comes to worse i'll try and fly in for a weekend for one of my fittings. thanks

good idea, you don't wanna worry about getting the dress shipped to ny once it's ready...
