My wedding is Saturday. So I go to pick up my wedding dress today and it has a line going across it. I tried it on two days ago and it was perfect. The people at the dress place say they may be able to steam it out from the back. Well....i came back a little bit later and now my dress is ruined. There are steam marks going all the way up and down the dress. I am not exaggerating. My MOH was with me too and agreed it was not able to be salvaged.
The dress place ordered a panel of fabric from the designer to be overnighted and they are going to attempt to replace it tomorrow....but who knows if it is going to match or not. So I am two days before my wedding heartbroken and without a dress. I bought the dress over a year ago and went to a very high end dress shop. I have been planning this wedding for over two years and so far this week my hair was dyed blonde by accident, my florist quit, my diamond sidestone cracked, and I needed an emergency dental appointment.
I have no plan B for tomorrow....please cross your fingers for me.
I did not just write this to vent though.....as a lesson to all...pick your dress up EARLY even if they try to convince you otherwise. Lie about your wedding date if needed.

I just asked POB to let me have my dress early because I'm taking the bar exam and don't want to be going through fittings at that time and they were weird about it. After hearing this I'm going to insist...
I wish there was something one of us could do for you - if there is let us know!!!!
The bar exam is in July, isn't it? I would recommend doing your fittings after the exam. You're likely to lose or gain weight right before the exam, anyway -- and you don't want to deal with fittings while studying for the exam. TRUST ME. I've taken the bar exam - while you will survive, you will overreact to everything the month leading up to the exam. I'd leave the fittings for afterwards when you can actually enjoy them.
GOOD LUCK with the exam. Don't stress over your dress - just focus on the test. You WILL pass.

Omigod! Im so sorry!!! But- remember- nothing can keep you and your FH from being happy on your big day!! And we all obsess over all the details and the dress and flowers etc., but in the end, you and FH beginning your lives together is what matters most.
However- I would demand they pay for your dress if it is their fault this happened! As for a last minute dress- maybe try stopping in bloomies or nordstroms and see if they have anything off the rack that fits.
And Ill keep my fingers crossed for you that everything turns out okay with your actual dress!!! Best fo Luck!!!
