Not at all! There are plenty of nice dresses under $1000. I was shooting for under $1500 and I found so many beautiful dresses by Demetrios in my price range.

There are tons of dresses under $1000 out there! TONS!!!
Choose dress shops wisely...some only carry more expensive choices.
$1000 was my budget, and I ended up spending $1k for the dress, the veil, the undergarments, the shoes, the headpiece, AND the alterations - and I got a beautiful Maggie Sottero gown.
Find something you like, then contact Phyllis at Bridal Elegance. She gets great prices!

I know someone who got a $5000 dress at Bergdorff Goodman for $500! One of the straps were ripped and she got it fixed and it looked like new!

Absolutely!! I don't think that I even looked at any dresses over $1000 and I found a bunch that I really liked. The dress I bought was only $800.

Not at all! I got mine for $650 plus tax, and you'd think it cost a lot more......
Once you find the dress you want, shop around - call different salons, they will always try to beat each others prices. The place I found it at told me $720, so I called other places - best price I found was at Burton's. They didn't have it in the store, but ordered it from the manufacturer.

oh my gosh, not at all! they have loads of dresses for less than $1000! i shopped at fantasias bridal in rocky point and the bridal suite of centereach and asked to only be shown dresses for less than $1000! i looooooove maggie sottero gowns. mine was $738 and i would have paid more for it if i had to! go shopping and see whats out there, you will be surprised!

Shop around even if you try on something that is on the 1k - 1,300k budget you can go to a diff. shop where they can come down i price. I am going to save $300 on a dress just by asking another shop how much they would charge me on a dres i loved.

Not too many brides mention it but I got my dress at Estelle's Dressy dresses. Of course if you need alterations, they only give you a list of seamstresses but from what I hear about some stores, that might not be the worst.
I was looking for a dress with short sleeves in a larger size so my choices were a bit limited but I was ables to try on about 10 dresses which I thought was excellent. The girl who helped me was really nice and they do had individual try-on rooms.
Since I was looking for something specific I did not pay alot of attention to labels except the ones I tried on. One was Bonny, MoriLee and Venus and prices ranged from $399 to $799. So if you are on a tight budget you might want to visit the store.
