Dress fitting - mini dilema
This is almost silly I know but I would like your opinion. My wedding is Sept 30th. I am losing weight (about 2 pounds a week-thank goodness :P) and am not sure when to do the fitting. I scheduled it for Sept 18 but thats only a week and a half before the wedding(thats only 2lbs before the wedding if I keep losing) My mom wants me to do it the 11th which is 2 1/2 weeks before to allow for problems with the alterations. However, thats 5 lbs more to lose. Mind you, thats if I keep going as good as now but I think I will... What do you all think? Do it earlier and take the chance of losing more weight and the dress is a bit loose again? I will stop the diet about a week before but I will probably keep losing with nerves and stuff... Please tell me what you think... Thank you!!!

Dress fitting - mini dilema
It's unlikely that 2 lbs will make that much difference in the way a dress fits. I would take the extra time up front - just in case - You can always go for a second fitting. At a minumum you should have a final try on /fitting about a week before.

Give yourself the extra time...
I lost about 20 lbs. between when I ordered the dress and my wedding date. My first fitting was about 6 weeks before the wedding and I had a second one to make minor adjustments 4 weeks before. At the final try-on, 2 weeks before, everything was fine. I was glad to have all the time to have multiple opportunities to fit the dress. You can also let them know of your progress in losing weight. A good seamstress should be able to make any minor fitting adjustments at the last minute if necessary, but 3-5 lbs. should not make a big difference.

Ok- I am doing the earlier date
As for the diet, I joined LA Weight Loss. I LOVE IT!!! A bit expensive but honestly, its about $12 a week. Just up front. Depending on what you have to lose will change it. You go 3 times a week, get weighed in each time, they keep up on you. You HAVE to do a food journal and they tell you pretty much what to eat IE: how many proteins, veggies etc. For me (I have tried everything) this is great!!! Its one-on-one counseling too. I joined 4 weeks ago and lost 8.5lbs already. Its very healty and by the way..I dont stick to it 100% so it would be more of a loss if I did but who can with a wedding coming up? If you want any further info just let me know. We can all have the same dilema until we are skinny rails :P If any of you do it, let me know! I can use a 'buddy' whos on it!

LA Weight loss...
I heard about la weight loss but i wasn't sure about it! are there any supplements involved? I called them to find out info on their Jetsmart (or something like that) program but it seemed like all they wanted to do was get me in to sell me something!!! I would love to hear more about it!!!

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I have lost about 25 lbs since I ordered my dress. I went for my first fitting on Sunday. The seamstress asked me why I bought such a big dress?!?!?! I just laughed and told her I have lost 25 lbs so far. The dress is really big on me but Id rather have it big than small!! I have another fitting in 3 weeks and if need be I will keep having fittings right up to the wedding date!! I would go for the fitting at an earlier date and let the seamstress make the decision. Let her know that you are still losing weight! Good Luck!! Lisa

Terri -- yes they do seem to want your money and I wasnt impressed by that but I am glad I did it now. When you go in the first time, they charged me like $300. Part of that is refundable if you quit in 3 days. That starts you on the Jetstart program. When you go back 3 days later, they charged me about $419. That is for every week and the bars/shakes you do 2 times a day. That is about $719 for all. That includes ALL visits and bars/shakes. Mine was for 15 weeks weight loss (15 weeks = 30 lbs), followed by stabilization then maintenence. When you hit the stabilization, you get like $75 back (I havent gotten there yet so I am not sure thats the exact figure) and when you hit maintenence you get like another $75 back. I bought supplements only because I wanted to 'rush' the loss for the wedding (I joined 10 weeks before the wedding). It was like $129 for 3 different ones BUT you dont have to do it, in fact, after 2 weeks they never even suggested it, I asked for them :P I put off calling because I figured it was a scheme but I see all the women there who have lost and it keeps me going. Plus going there every Mon, Wed and Fri, keeps me on track! The diet is actually easy to follow once you 'adjust' to healthy eating. I really like it now - it was hard at first but again, I really dont follow 100% so I could do better but I dont want to 'suffer' either. I think its really worth it. I am glad I did it and wish I did it earlier. I am a Weight Watchers 'failure' lol if you will so this is great for me. If you dont show up for a week or two, I am told, they call you to get you back on track. You can also put it on 'hold' if your going away (honeymoon) or something. If you have anything else you want to know, email me at [email protected] Feel free!

That is fantastic!!! Congrats on all the loss!! I reset the appointment just in case something goes wrong. If I do end up losing a few pounds before the wedding, no biggie. The dress may be a tad big but I will love the idea on the honeymoon when the bathing suit looks better!!! I still cant believe how much you lost already! That is fantastic. I wish I had started earlier but better late than never. How much more are you looking to lose?Welcome New Vendors
