Dress for a wedding that I am a guest at

Just need an opinion. I'm going to a wedding in March on a Saturday afternoon. I have a long black dress and a short black dress. Are either appropriate or should I not wear black to an afternoon wedding? I'm going shopping tomorrow and I have a giftcard to Bloomies, so I'm definitely up for buying something new. But I could also save the giftcard for something else. What do you all think? Thanks!

I think black is fine. I feel you can never go wrong with black.
I went to an afternoon wedding in October and myself & 2 other ladies at my table alone had black dresses on.

I think you are fine. You can wear black during any time of the year. The wedding is in the winter.

I've worn black dresses to weddings before, both day and night, and I was not the only person there to wear black. I think it's fine.

Thanks everyone! Black it is then. Maybe I'll look for shoes for my wedding and use the giftcard for that!

my wedding was a Sunday day & my cousin & a friend both had short black dresses on. I think another coworker had a long black dress. I say save the gift card for something good!!!
