dress help

I am going to be wearing my grandmother dres from the 40's. It needs some stuff taken off and some stuff added to it. Also, there are a couple of rips that need to be repaired. Also, she was really skinny and a year ago it fit me, but now it is a bit tight and doesn't button all the way. :( I've been going to the gym, but its not doing any good. So i prolly need it altered as well. Any ideas on how much I should figure on spending on this?
