i have always wanted a ballgown dress. woudl this type of dress work on my body type?

Re: dress help

They will provide you with the slip stuff to go under the dress - especially the crioline (sp) thing to give you a full affect.

No matter you body type just try on alllll kinds of dresses.

I have a fat a$$ lol and i ended up getting a fuller type gown - but i tried on different kinds and thats what i ended up feeling comfortable in. go there with an open mind.

Re: dress help

I carry most of my weight in my middle also and I have a medium to large chest, and my dress is a ball gown with a natural waist and it falls a-line.. It ended up suiting me the best.. I tried on every other kind of style first though, so I would definitely recommend doing that

As for the slip thing, I went shopping at tons of places and tried on tons of dresses and there were only a handful that needed a slip underneath while trying on.. They will give you the slip if need be

I also have most of my weight in the middle, with a big chest. The dress that looked best on me was a strapless a-line, with a corset back (totally su*ks you in and makes your waist really tiny!!)

They give you the slip to try on with the dress. Also, bring a strapless bra with you, so you can get the full effect.

Good luck!

A-line flatters all shapes
and Empire waist hides the midsection

good luck!! :)

I think you will DEF find an A-Line type dress will be most flattering. However, you really should try on some other styles 1. because you never know and 2. because it's fun

Re: dress help

I am a curvy girl myself, and I tried on different fits- and I love my ball gown. The fuller the bottom, the smaller your waist will look (thats what they told me). So, I tried on my dress without a petticoat, then with one on....and they were right! God Bless Optical Illusions- i look 6 inches smaller on the waist.

def go for a-line with corset back. i ended up loving the dresses with the 'side ruching' (thats the term i learned at the bridal salons).

I say try on all different shapes. I'm apple shaped. I have a big butt and hips, i have boobs but they are not huge. I think you def should stay away from the mermaid style- which is the flute style. I tried on all A-line gowns. Mine has pleating near the stomach to above my hip and it is soooo flattering. I have pin tucks all on the bottom so it hides my butt but lays in all the right places!!!
