I fell in love with this dress - it is a Romona Keveza 'Jackie' dress - but unfortunately it is way out of my budget....does anyone know where I could find it discounted? or have it made? or something very similar???
You could get it for about 10-15% less at one of the designer's trunk shows. Even better - maybe you could buy a sample of the dress? I looked on theknot.com, and the following stores are listed for her dresses:

That dress is absolutely gorgeous!! If you find a sample that is in good shape you can offer to buy the actual sample from the store. If it is not a popular seller (you'd be suprised at what dresses aren't popular sellers) they will be thrilled to unload the sample. And make sure you haggle!! Offer at least $1000. less than what they offer you the sample for.
PS I was told by one salon that any dress that isn't strapless isn't selling that well right now. This salon was willing to sell me a 4K Reem Acra dress for $1500. Unfortunately for me, I didn't completely love the dress, but it was beautiful.

i have a dress with a similar neck line...they are very hard to come by. alvina valenta has some...and i tried one on in adriennes in islip, but i don't know who it was by. i'm not sure what your budget is, but you could try going someplace to have one made. i was almost ready to do it, but then i just bought the dress that i loved.
