I am in love with two dress by Jim Hjelm. But they seem rather expensive. Can anyone recommend a place to buy a Jim Hjelm dress that is a good deal. Also... can you recommend any other designers that make dresses that look similiar to these two?

LAZARO AND ALVINA VALENTA DRESSES ARE VERY SIMILAR. TRY VILLAGE BRIDAL IN BABYLON.

I believe there is a Jim Hjelm store in the city. I was watching My Fair Wedding, and the guy, forgot his name took the bride to the actual Jim Hjelm store in the city to get BM dresses, but in the background I saw bride dresses. I guess you can google it

Have you tried maggie sottero dresses? I hear very good things about them... this one reminded me of the second one you posted!

Hello!
I purchased my dress at Bridal Reflections and it is a James Clifford. I was told by the salesgirl that Jim Hjelm dresses are designed by James Clifford. He decided to create his own line under his own name, 'James Clifford'. So, basically a James Clifford gown is almost like purchasing a Jim Hjelm for half the price.

Try Adriennes NY. The owner Gina is AMAZING!!! Everything in her store is priced really well. She carries Jim Hjelm and several other deigners including her own. I think I remember seeing similar dresses at her store.
She has both a bridal salon and a bridesmaid/evening wear store right across the street from each other (noth called Adrienne's)
The bridal salon is at 156 Orchard St, NY, NY 212-228-9618.

those are both SO pretty!!! You can check places like The Wedding Center that carry a ton of dresses that are discounted.

Thanks again everyone! I just wish wedding dresses weren't so expensive!! On the one hand I feel like you wear this dress one day don't spend so much. But on the other hand I feel like I am never going to be a bride again I should have my dream dress. I am going today to try on dresses! I am so excited!!! Thanks again everyone for all the help!!

You only wear it once but the dress will be in ALL of your pictures. I'm not telling you to break the bank but the dress is definitely a worthwhile investment.
