Ok, so I am an 09 bride. I am on a budget and I said that I would be sensible about all of this. My fiance and I are trying to find many ways to cut costs. So the problem is that I went wedding dress shopping and fell in love with a dress that was almost twice the price I planned to spend. However, the woman from the store just called me and said that I could get the dress for $250 less! It is the dress of my dreams. I only went shopping once before at another store and did not like anything there. Do I go for it? Do I keep looking? Help!

if you know who makes the dress and the style it is, call around to a few places or look online and see you can find it cheaper elsewhere. i know a few people who have done that and have actually found the exact dress online for cheaper. so if you reallyreallly love the dress i would say go for it!

I actually found the dress online at DavidsBridal.com for cheaper than the original price. However, at the price it is being offered to me now from Bridal Suite of Bayshore where I tried it on, it is $50 cheaper than the David's Bridal price. I am just not sure if I should try harder to stick to my budget! But thank you for the input. I really appreciate it!

I think you should go for it! It's hard to find the perfect dress, so since you've found it, get it so that you won't have any regrets.

also, once you find 'THE dress' check out www.bridepower.com. They sell samples. I got my gown from them & it was less than 1/2 of what it should have been. They clean the dress & do minor repairs included in the price. Shipping is like $30. Totally worth it.

Like the others said, look around and see if u can get it cheaper.
I see a lot of postings on here from people who fell in love w/ 1 dress, but as their wedding gets closer, they find something else they like even more. Just something to keep in mind.

This is all good advice. I think I am going to go for it. My best friend was with me and agrees that it was 'magical' and to go for it. FH even insisted that he would help and to get the one I want. Thanks for the input!

I say go for it if you cant find it cheaper. I keep hearing that the way you feel that day makes the day! The one thing you dont want to cut costs on is the way you are going to feel as you walk down that aisle.
also, I have read so many bad reviews online about the wedding center in Commack. I didnt actually order my dress their but I did go there and I wanted to get a feel for it myself and possible order other things I needed. The woman was so nice. She sat with me for over 2 hours and was extremely helpful. You can call there and see if they carry your designer and tell them what you paid and see if they can give you a better price. What I would do is even tell them $200 cheaper than the original price told you. Hopefully you can get a better deal. Good Luck!!
