Before your 1st fitting, did you go check your dress to make sure it was ok, not damaged, etc???

Yes! Run there! I went early to check it out and my gown came in almost 3 inches too short! If I would've left it, I couldn't even imagine the nightmare that I would have had to deal with.... Go inspect it, try it on, everything and you'll be glad you did. Plus you get to see your gorgeous gown again!!!

No, but my dress came in right before my first fitting, so it would not have made any difference. If your dress comes in a while before the fitting, definitely go check it out -- especially if you ordered hollow to hem!

heck yeah i went to chk the dress.
a friend of mine's dress came into a shop and she was an OOT bride -- so her mom went to check it and the store was like 'you really dont' have to'
well when her mom got there--not only was it the wrong COLOR (ivory instead of white) but it was the wrong DRESS! so i always say that ppl should chk their dress when it comes in

yup - i just went last week to check mine - and i have a hollow to hem so we needed to check that it was correct

Yes Yes Yes.
I've tried it on twice now, and my first fitting isn't until Saturday. Turns out, we have to do A LOT more work than we thought. I almost bought a different dress when I saw how much. But, she says she can do it, and do it in the amount of time we have.
You DO NOT want to find this stuff out 6 weeks before your wedding, just in case the seamstress can't get it done in the allotted time.

i went just to make sure, you never know people can make mistakes by accident. Defintily go for a viewing of it.

My first fitting was four days after the dress came in so I didn't go in to check on it. But if there is a big gap between the dress coming in and the first fitting I would definitely check on it.

Jen I went in to make sure they ordered the right dress & veil, made sure the color were correct (2 different colors), and to try on the dress making sure it was not defective in any way. I also served as a check in point with my weight.

Yes! I got my dress at David's so when it came in I took it home since I am NOT having it altered by them. I tried it on & gave it a good inspection before I left the store with it.
