DRESS ISSUES

DRESS ISSUES

so....went to my first fitting and only the top of the dress was a little too big. The rest fit perfect and i had a corset on underneath. Then I go back again and still the top is a little too big but now the boning on the corset is showing too much and the back boning on the corset is showing a lot.

I go for the 3rd time now trying on something else with more smooth lines and the dress doesn't fit!!!! The structure from not having a corset on is now gone, but the lines are gone too......the seamstress cuts open my dress on both sides and i lose it.

I cried all the way home because i was comfy in the corset due to it's structure but you could see too much of it underneath...now im wearing something with no structure and the dress doesn't fit. I have lost it!!! One week till the wedding and they are still working on my dress.

Anyone else have this problem with their undergarments????

I don't know what to do.

Re: DRESS ISSUES

i wish i had gone with a corset but I had such a low back on my dress nothing would of worked. I had many alterations for my dress since I lost 25lbs after being measured all up to 6 days before the wedding. They can work on your dress till the night before to make it right.

It seems like you miss the support of the corset but if the boning is showing through they should of known that and padded it more with fabric on the inside but I am not sure even if that would of worked (depends on the fabric). I am sure things will be okay

Re: DRESS ISSUES

Do you 'need' the corset? My dress did not have a corset back, and I tried it on with a long-line bra and it was bulky and a little uncomfortable. I ended up having cups sewn in, and a little extra boning (which isnt actually bone anymore, its just like plastic mesh to help the dress keep its shape at the seams instead of buckling) and it was much more comfortable and gave me all of the support I needed (I'm a small C).

Have you considered this option?

Re: DRESS ISSUES

FWIW, I picked my dress up the Thurs before my wedding ... I had 8 fittings and many of them were the week before my wedding.

It will get done
