Here's a pic of my dress (it's a really bad one) and I took off the hanging things yesterday and wanted to make a sash/cummberbund thing to kinda look like the picture below. I know I dont have an exact picture but do you think it's smart move or just leave the dress as it should be? I am kind of stressing of course. TIA.

I would ask your fitter about that.
Your dress is gorgeous!!
The one thing about making the hanging fabric into a sash is a great idea, but would it interfere with the top detail of your gown?
That's the question. No matter what your dress will look gorgeous.

Thank you! See the seamstress doesn't offer her opinon at all--she just keeps saying whatever you want, whatever you want. And I dont exactly know! It's semi frustrating, I'd like a professional opinion on this. We made the sash the same proportion as the top so I dont think it intefered. At my next fitting I will take pics and post for opinions. BTW, your post totally made me feel better, I wasnt loving the dress yesterday.

I agree it might interfere with the top. It might even look like its a continuation of the top rouging if that makes any sense. I think you need to wrap one of the straps around and take a pic to see what it would look like.

I think it's gorgeous and I think the sash would look great, I think it would help accentuate your small waist. . either way I agree it will look great. . can you do a fabric sash that is not attached, like you an just tie it on, that way you could wear it either way?

Thanks for the input. I guess I really need to take some pics with it to determine. The only thing is if I dont sow it on somehow, I feel like it would fall off during the reception and look weird.
