Dress overload!!!

Re: Dress overload!!!

[Oh definitely, I've tried on a few and haven't felt totally comfortable in them, but I am not ruling them out completely. I am really open to trying on all different dresses. One bridal attendant said I was her pickiest in a long time because everything we picked looked good on me, making it THAT much harder to narrow down

yup i had that problem too....its not like you can be like ew...such and such style look terrible on me and then go from there, very frustrating!

Exactly! And it doesn't help when my mom kept coming back with more and more and more dresses By the time we left I was drained and almost a little depressed!!!

ETA: It also stinks when the dresses are too small or too big because I can't get the exact idea of how it fits, lays, etc...Ughh!

Re: Dress overload!!!

i had that problem too... my first time shopping I tried on a few and every dress some other customers would be like, 'WOW is that your dress?? amazing!!' the sales girls were like, really, you can pull anything off. That made it harder.

The dress I ended up getting looked like nothing special on the hanger, I almost didn't try it on. I just did 'for the heck of it'. And needless to say, I was done!!

It also didn't help that I am a size 2, and the sample was a size 12! It was so long and I was clipped up all over! So I'm anxious to see how it fits when it comes in in my size.

Take a break, you have plenty of time! You will find something!

Re: Dress overload!!!

I'm loving the first one (the Marisa that looks just like the Melissa Sweet Lia gown)..

I just met a girl today who said she never had the moment of crying and knowing her dress was the one.
She just said that she kept going back to this one particular gown and it was what she always pictured herself in when she thought of her wedding day all along...and she tried tons of gowns..yet she stuck with what she always pictured herself in all along. So despite the confusion, her advice was to go with the one you've always wanted all along.
Every dress looks beautiful on you!! So there's no way you'll make a bad choice.
Good luck!!
I'm trying on my deep down #1 tonight again too. (And when I tried it the first time I never had the moment. But I know that its the one. Still keeping options open, but in my heart I know its the one.)

Isn't it fun deliberating?? I wish all issues were this much fun!

I like mermaids, fitted, a-line. Nothing too poofy or ball-gownish.

The 3 top contenders I do want to try on again. I feel like I need to spend more time in them!

Definitely spend more time in them but also dont be afraid to keep looking. I thought I found my dress but kept looking and it turns out that the first one wasn't my dress, I found it in my continued search.

same thing here. I tried on sooo many dresses. After trying on so many i drew a picture of my ideal dress picking elements from all the ones i liked. The dress i chose is a casablanca which apparently can be changed into ANYTHING i want for little money more.

I am changing the neckline in the front and back, shortening the train, adding buttons, and changing the coloring all for 275 more!

So make sure you ask about that.. not all designers do it, but a few do. i know casablanca does.. and now i have my dream dress thats 100% customized!

the place i got my dress was the last one. I wasnt going to shop nemore but i did for fun just to keep playing dress up.. i didnt want it to be over!

I found my dream dress after i was going to stop.

Wow, I had no idea! I tried on a Casablance two days ago that I loved the bottom but hated the top and my mom was saying how we could change it and the attendant was totally discouraging it! She was like, Whats the point you might as well keep looking till you find a dress you like everything about?

And where did you buy your dress from?

I guess some places do it and others dont i went to 5 places and only 2 told me about the casablanca deal.

Its a lil boutique up here in Massachusettes. Im not In ny sorry but if you still want the name, lol ill give it to you. ask around by you though, its the designer thats making my changes not the shop!

Keep looking. I have to say I tried on sooo many dresses. After going the 2nd time I found my dress but, wasnt sure and needed to try on sooooo many more to know it was the one. I tried on every gown I had loved in pics, others that caught my eye in the store and theones that the ladies thought would be me. I had thought I found my dress4-5 times but, didnt like it on the website and then tried them on again the second time and didnt get that feeling. But I have to say the one that Gerri at Lillettes pulled out for me the 2nd time I went shopping was the one I kept going back to and tried on like 4-5 times before ordering.
I dont think it'll confuse you , Heather, just narrow the search down.

Re: Dress overload!!!

I have a dress update for you since I replied to this yesteray...the dress that I kept thinking about, even though I didn't give it a second glance during the initial try on...is IT!
I went back last night and put it on, and just knew. All the others that I deliberated over endlessly just weren't right. It was a month for me between the first time I went trying on and last night.
Re-try on your top pics, your opinon may be very different. Mine definitely was. The dress that was my top pick on my first visit, I tried on again, and it wasn't as thrilling to me. I think you'll get a better idea. My sales lady said ts definitely a process you have to go through and you need to really think about how you want to look/feel in your gown.
Hope that is helpful!
