Dress prices

I found my dress!! I LOVE it! I do have a pricing question- I found it at Bridal Suite in Centereach, and it is a little more $$ than I was planning on (luckily mom and dad have offered to pay, but I if I can get it cheaper all the better
So my ? is this- can I call other places and get quotes and see if Bridal Suite will match them? I loved the girl who helped me, and would really like to get it there.

Re: Dress prices

I'm not sure if they will give you a price quote over the phone. I bought my dress at Lillette's in Baldwin & it was cheaper then other stores. If you have the time you can shop around & see about the prices. And you can tell Bridal Suite that you saw it for cheaper somewhere else but would rather do buisness with them. Then ask them if they can do better. They might not do it but it's worth a shot.

Re: Dress prices

I called around and got lots of different prices for my gown...and some of the price differences were pretty significant (a few hundred dollars). The salons I called had no problem giving me prices over the phone.

Just keep in mind that service is very important, and that you should feel comfortable and happy with the people you are dealing with. Sometimes saving a couple of bucks is not worth it in the long run.

Like Tracy said, after collecting some prices, go back to the original shop, let them know that you'd really like to work with them, and ask if they can match your best price.

Re: Dress prices

I do't think they will quote you a price over the phone but you should go in and try to wheel and deal. Most places will ask you what you have seen it for - just take the price you already have and lower it about $300 and see if they will at least match that.

good luck!

Re: Dress prices

I also found my dress at Bridal Suite in Centereach and the dress was also over budget. I called RK's in NYC and was quoted $450 less than their price. Needless to say I am taking a trip into the city on Monday to order my dress. It's worth giving them a call. The link is www.rkbridal.com. Good luck!

Re: Dress prices

you have some time. i suggest you contact the designer to see who carries your dress and then go to several different places and compare prices.
make sure the place you buy it at, is a reputable shop but do look for a price break. you can use the difference in cost to buy something else like invitations or even your makeup!

Re: Dress prices..katebug

Kate, not sure who you are working with at Bridal Suite, but they definitely tried as close as they could to match everything I asked them too.. I felt really comfortable there, and definitely wanted my money to go somewhere I felt good about... you can find your dress really cheap somewhere but you get what you pay for! :)

Re: Dress prices..katebug

My stepmother negioated my dress price with Bridal Suite in Centereach. They will work with you. Call Commack Wedding Center get a price and tell BS that you found the gown cheaper elsewhere but would rather buy from them. They will match or come very close to the price.

Re: Dress prices..katebug

We did the same thing Michele31 did. Got prices at Comack wedding Center and John at Bridal Siute matched them or did better. My mom paid $335.00 for her dress then we saw it at Macys for $455.00. They have a reasonable cap on alterations too some stores don't and can charge as much for alterations as the dress.
