Wow..I went dress shopping yesterday and didn't realize how expensive designer dresses could be (and I only got quoted at $1,049 plus 15% off which was like 850.)
I was curious if this is a lot of average.
Does anyone mind stating how much they paid for their gown before alterations and accesseries (veil, crown, shoes, ect.)

i think that 1,000 to start is on the cheaper side....the dress i want is a demetrios and i think in Macys its about 1,000 and in the bridal salon i tried it on in it was 1,500 alterations included.....i thought finding a dress for that price was a steal!!! i was expecting to pay closer to 3K which was my budget.....

There are tons of dresses you can get for under $1k. What's your budget? That will give you a better idea what designers to look at.

you can find dresses in all ranges, so dont worry. Some can be very expensive, but set a budget that you are comfortable with and look at designers that are in that range. But yes that is normal for dresses, i would say many will start at $500-1k and then goes up from there

My dress is a Maggie Sottero and I paid $560. Alerations can't exceed $150 and the bustle is about $80. So it still is under $900. Which is good. My mom paid for my dress and she told me to stop looking at the tags, try all the ones you like on and which ever one you love that is the one we will get. So that is that.
I paid $845 for the dress before alterations which should cap out at $150

i paid 600 for mine but they come in all different prices....it also depends on where you go....i was quoted up to 1400 in a botique for my dress....glad i shopped around!

I paid 600 for mine without alterations which is about 300. Definitley shop around bc like many of the girls said when I originally saw the dress in a different boutique it was almost double the price.
