Dress Problem-NEED HELP!!!

OK, my wedding is about three weeks away (2/17) and my dress is not in yet!!! It is a Casaablanca dress and I ordered it through Phyllis at Bridal Elegance. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Has anyone else had this problem. I have called Phyllis repeatedly, each time i get a slightly different story and she keeps telling me to be patient. She said at one point that this was typical of casablanca, they run very slow. I ordered the dress in July so it should have been plenty of time! Has anyone else had this problem with Casablanca? this has been the worst part of planning my wedding, I have been totally stress free up till this point! As you can imagine I am running out of patience and I am very nervous! I dont know what to do if the dress does not come in! HELP!!!!

WOW! That has got to be very scary! If I were you I would definately start planning out plan B and C. Maybe just check out david's bridal and see what is available off the rack just in case. If worse comes to worse my friend has a jasmine dress in a size 10 that she never picked up from bridal Reflections (her wedding was called off) and if need be you are welcome to buy that from them(she owes $600). I am so sorry you have to go through this!

I would speak to Phyllis and ask her about alternate plans. Maybe she ahs dresses there that you can wear instead.

Yes I agree call Phyllis, Im sure she knows what to do or what she can do if something likes that happens.

Yes I agree call Phyllis, Im sure she knows what to do or what she can do if something likes that happens.

I also agree. And don't let her make you feel like you're being crazy and that you just have to be patient. Get her to either give solid answers or work on a plan B with you.

You might want to also check out David's Bridal just for some back ups that are off the rack.

My stomach just dropped for you! Oh my goodness, I could not imagine what you are going through- I would try to call Casablance DIRECTLY. Get more information and still keep on calling Phyllis. I am so sorry!! And check the racks, maybe you could find something similiar? Try to stay as calm as you possibly can and let us know what happens!

I would try to call Casablanca directly.

And instead of CALLING the bridal store, I would GO DOWN THERE! I think you're more likely to get a straight answer in person.

Seriously!! The company may be more helpful than the store..plus the store can tell you where they are with it.. if it's still being made, etc..

i remember an 06 bride had a problem with her too. turns out she never placed the order.(this was for her bridesmaid dresses)
i would be worried and i would get to the bottom of this.

OMG I am so sorry that you are going through this I would definitely come up with a back up plan just in case your dress does not come in on time, but I am that it does. I would be absolutely livid with Phyllis when does she expect you to start your fittings the week of the wedding

I hope everything works out!!
Keep calling -make her PROMISE that your dress will be altered, etc. in time.
But work on a plan B just in case.
Try not to panic!!!

I completely agree. However, I'd go see Phyllis in person and get the number for HER contact at Casablanca so you know you're talking to the right person... and find out when the gown was ordered, etc.

I'd get on this ASAP and don't let anyone make you feel like you're being impatient. I REALLY hope your dress comes in -- but Phyllis needs to be reminded that it should have come in at least 2 months before your wedding!

WHOAH!!! I'm sooo sorry you're going through that!

I have a similar problem with my veil right now, but I'm not nearly in the time crunch you are, and let's be honest, if the veil doesn't come in, I can get one on ebay in a flash!

Yeah, I'd first call the company directly, and if you get nowhere with that, then tell her if the gown is not in in 1 week, you will cancel your order, contact your credit card company, and file a report with the BBB. It's inexcusable that the dress is not with you yet.

Definitely go to davids bridal and RK bridal and see what you can buy off the rack....

I chose to have my BMs order from somewhere else for other reasons... but OMG, this makes me feel like my decision was the right one!!!

Thank you everyone for your advice, I am going to bridal elegance tonight for my neices fittings so i will talk to her then. I am so nervous!!!! i hope to god she did order this dress. This is just unbelieveable! i will let you know what happens! thanks again!

Definitely call Casablanca and find out. Supposedly their longest ship time is sixteen weeks (and I checked, because my wedding was only twenty weeks after I ordered), and you're over that by quite a bit. I would be afraid that the order wasn't placed or there was a problem.

Please let us know what happens! Also, I think you need to talk to Phyllis in person. If your dress doesn't come in, especially if it's her fault, she should provide you with an alternate.

When you order in advance, most bridal salons do not place the order right away. They place it so the dress will arrive 2-4 months before your wedding (usually). It sounds possible that either the order wasn't submitted or possibly submitted late. If not, could be a problem with Casablanca.

Either way, it's time to get to the bottom of this!
