dress problems I need advice!

Have any of you girls got fitted for your dress without having your proper undergarments? I bought my dress here in Long Island but I live in Philly so I thought I would just pick up my dress and bring it home with me. However, when I got to the place I decided to have my alterations done there since this seamstress has gotten so many rave reviews on these boards. I was just surprised that she told me that I could be fitted without the undergarments that I am going to be wearing the day of my wedding. And she told me that I could pick up my dress the next time I was in Long Island. I thought girls usually had a couple of fittings and didn't have the last one over a month away from their wedding date.

I know it's different for everyone but I am just a little confused.

I've always been told, even when a bridesmaid, that I should get fitted with the exact undergarments I will be wearing with the dress. That way you see exactly how your body will look– if the bra pulls weird, if it shows, etc. Are you having cups put in? I guess that would be different. And it is normal to have a few fittings to make sure everything is ok, especially if you're losing weight. Next week is my 3rd and hopefully final one.
