i found the dress i want on bridesave. i wear a size 5 in jeans, do i order a 5 in the dress or is the sizeing different?
i would try on the dress at a salon and then order it. bridal gown sizes can be tricky. i am normally a 4 and my wedding gown is a size 12!
each designer runs differently. my friend bought a priscilla of boston gown-she is normally a size 4 and they ordered her a size 6. my gown designer (amalia carrara) runs extremely small, so a 12 is the equivalent to a size 4. if you know the designer and style number, go to a bridal salon and try it on. they will tell you what size to get and then you can just order it online. i would be nervous about ordering a gown without trying it on.
Wedding gowns are a completely different size range for the most part. that includes bridesmaid dresses as well. i wear a size 6 in jeans and my wedding gown is a size 12. It is completely different because they have to take your whole body into account. The reason my dress is a 12 is because of the bust as well... Gowns do tend to run small for the most part.
o they definitely run small, I had to get my dress in a size almost double what I usually wear, I would defintely go to a bridal salon and try the dress on first, so you have an idea of how small or large they actually run.
DEFINATELY get professionally measured... Some companies have different sizing charts and THE LAST thing you want is for your dress to be too small.. Too big is NOT a prob, because you can always get it altered!
I wear a size 6 ...and my dress is a 10...so you never know.....get professionally measured.
