dress question
I just realized when I bought my dress they did all my measurements except my height. Is that normal? Do they not need that measurement or should I call them.

Re: dress question
Don't worry unless you are EXCEPTIONALLY tall. I am 5'9 and that was a concern of miine. When I asked the lady at the salon said they are very long and if they thought you were EXCEPTIONALLY tall only then would they have to order it in Tall.

Re: dress question
You only get measured for your height if your dress is specially made to fit your exact height, which is called Hem to Hollow, which means they can't trim the bottom of the dress because of the beading and design work. So don't worry about it.

Re: dress question
All dresses are ordered for a person who is 5'8'. If you're going to be taller than that with your shoes, they usually make you order extra length. The thing that *****, is the extra length gives you about 12-15', then they get you on alterations....it happens every time... (in bridesmaids dresses anyway....)

Re: dress question
most of the dresses come in really long and they will adjust it when they do alterations...so i think it will be fine!!!

yep - that happened to me bc it couldnt be taken in from my waist and there is beadwork on the bottom hem - so I needed this done but I had to get my shoes first. and im also 4'11'
eta: Wait, I forgot, we have the same dress!!! how tall are you?? because at the bridal salon I bought mine at the salesgirl thought they could hem it at the waist, but the beadwork goes over the seam on the waist so they decided to do a hollow to hem for me...but im very short so the hem would have been a LOT....i would just call the store and ask if you are unsure

Re: dress question
Yeah I'm about average height, 5'3. I was thinking that too that they can't hem it cause of the beads on the bottom. I think I will call them just in case. Thanks girls

Re: dress question

Re: dress question
They don't normally take a height measurement unless it is a custom made dress or you are really tall and need extra length. I think it *****, becuase my dress is going to have to be taken apart to shorten.

Re: dress question
I am 5'11' and I said not to do hollow to hem bc I don't want them to charge me to take the fabric off that I am paying extra for. The dress I tried on, the sample, had the length that it would come in, so if anything, I would just wear shorter shoes. Don't worry about it.Welcome New Vendors
