dress question

I thought I should ask you mom's what you think.
My mom finally bought a dress for my wedding & it's nice but it's not a 'MOTB' dress. I told her she didn't have to wear a typical dress if she didn't want to but now we (me & my mom) feel like it may not be dressy enough. It is a daytime wedding so people may be more casual but she thought it might be funny next to my step dad in a tux.
Should she try to dress that one up or just keep looking for something that really say 'I'm the mother of the bride'
