Dress Question. What you do afterwards...

Dress Question. What you do afterwards...

OKAY.

I better get off my tush & get this done.

So to my 08 ladies that already had their wedding. What did you do after the wedding with you dress.

You get it drycleaned at a regular dry cleaning place. how did you preserve it. You have to send it somewhere? how much would something like that cost.

As you can see I didn't do research on this yet, & I really should get my dress cleaned & preserved asap.

TIA

mine is at my IL's house, from the day we got back from the hotel i put it on dh's bed at his parents house and its been on the bed ever since lol but its in the bag the dress came in so it is covered... i should get it cleaned though but i have to make sure its somebody that comes highly recommended

preserving your dress can cost a couple of hundred dollars. Some girls posted about $600 but others had also found it for a bit less

mine is still hanging in my mom's room.... she's probably going to take it to the dry cleaner; she already asked him how much to preserve it and it's $150 there.

wow. I had no idea it could run that high. They place I got the dress from said $189 w/ three pieces (just called them). But now I am worried, do the more expensive places use a different process that is better?

honestly i have no clue bc i havent looked into this yet...i remember there was a thread about this before and this is what other girls were saying, and i just remember some of the prices others said and i was shocked when i saw $600 but i did see others who said less too. I guess find out if different places do a different process.

I guess i should start calling about this and find out hahaha. Although soon i would like to just put my dress on around the house and surprise DH with it when he gets home from work

i think i am going to wear it around the house hahahahaha,i would have to get the dress from my IL's house first, but it would be funny.

I'm doing a search on the boards. Seems the newlywed boards have a couple suggestions

I saw this website
http://www.gownpreservation.com/

and this
http://www.prestigepreservation.com/

I don't know how either of them are though

My cleaners handled my SIL's dress and it was $150 for cleaning & preservation in a nice box.

They even got out a huge stain from a RED mixed drink someone spilled on her
