Dress question (XPost 2011)

I ordered my dress last week and they said it will take AT LEAST 12-14 weeks. well it came in yesterday and i had to pick it up today. fine.

right now its in my mom's bedroom, wrapped in a white sheet and in a white garment bag, it should be fine right?? it won't get discolored between now and February when i will start fittings??

Yeah it should be fine, just make sure that you won't get charged anything for opening it up to look at it. I heard from a friend that she opened the package before her fitting and there was something wrong with it, but because she had no proof that it wasn't her that did the damage they would not pay to fix it :/

but why didnt the dress shop u ordered from keep it? most places ive heard of keep the dress til u come in for fittings, etc.

ita. I thought they were supposed to keep it until fittings or by the contract date?

I opened it at the store and tried it on before i left with it. and its good i did b/c the zipper was torn a little bit but they fixed it right there

Make sure that no one Smokes in your moms house! smoking can discolor the dress .

Congrats on getting your dress! It should be fine. Do you feel better having at your house or would you think about seeing if the place would hold it there for you?

The place where I bought my dress kept it until the week before our reception
