Dress Shopping

Dress Shopping

Hi everyone!

I know that I never post on this but I was wondering if you can be of assistance. My MOH and I went this Sunday for the first time to look at dresses for me and the bridal party. Our first stop was Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. I did not know that you needed an appoinment so I did not get farther from the front desk. However, I did not really have a great first impression from the lady at the front desk who helped me set up an appointment 3 weeks from now.

We then went over to David's Bridal in Westbury. I tried some stuff on and liked the first dress that I tried on but it was not a wonderful shopping experience.

I was wondering if you can suggest other places. It does not matter where..I am flexible as long as they have a nice staff and reasonable prices ( I know I am asking for a lot).

Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Dress Shopping

Try Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point. They are amazing and do price matching. Search some reviews on here. You would need an appointment if you go.

Welcome to the '08 boards!

I do not live in LI but I did check out the Macy's in Manhasset and The Wedding Salon of Manhasset.
Macy's only has Demetrios gowns. There are sooooo many to choose from. I went there with a picture of another dress and the woman who helped me (Barbara) pulled about 15 dresses that fit the description of what I wanted. She was EXTREMELY helpful and pacient!
I ended up ordering my dress from a bridal salon that is closer to where I live (Westchester)...it would just be less of a headache for me and my girls for the fittings. (I got my bm dresses there too).
I know Macy's has another salon in Smith Haven and Manhattan as well.

Good luck! HTH

Re: Dress Shopping

I second the recommendation from RK Bridal - I work in the city so it was convenient for me.

But it is a great store to try on lots of dresses. You dont' need an appt, but it gets real crowded on a Sat, so I recommend going early.

They let you run through the racks and try on whatever, so its a great place to go for the first time to get an idea of some styles you like/don't like.

It is a discount retailer, so the fitting rooms, etc. leave something to be desired. Some of the dresses are shop-worn (I tried on some with broken straps), but I was still really happy with being able to look through all the racks and try on sooooo many different designers.

By the way, those were the first two places I went to, and I had the SAME experience!!

I had an amazing experience at Kleinfelds in NYC, ask for Sarah!!! I would say that was my favorite place, though RK Bridal is great because you dont have to make an appt unless you are trying stuff on. Its not too busy during the week! Good luck!
