Re: Dress Shopping?
I know I am totally on the ball.
FYI - Advice for my ladies. Most dresses take up to nine months to come in. Then another 2-3 months for alternations and customizing. There are some desginers out there that take up to 18 months!

Re: Dress Shopping?
They say it can take about 9 months to get a dress so I'll probably start looking around this time next year, maybe a little later. Getting married in May so that gives me exactly 9 months.

Re: Dress Shopping?
Alesia and I actually went a week ago to look and try on different styles just to see what fits our body. I also went with my mom yesterday, but ultimately it's just to look because i'm getting my dress made and I have to wait until next year for that. In the mean time, it doesn't help going to try them on just to feel like a princess!

I'm going to RK bridal next week when I'm on vacation. I already know the dress I want. Its an Alfred Angelo (with black detail, not pink).

I will definitely let you know. Trust me, I have no desire to go into Manhattan for a dress, but I figure its worth a try, the place is so big.

I wanted to do that, but its not gonna happen. I'm gonna be realistic about getting the dress though. I'm not going to go crazy and order 4 sizes too small; I'm just going to order it one size or so smaller and take it from there.

I am petrified to go. Not happy with my size and know i'll find nothing that fits me on the rack. would like to take the next year to just drop 4 dress sizes so i feel better about going. Would love to go and just see what i like, but don't want to get depressed.

I was petrified to go too, but it wasnt as bad as I thought. It helped that I was at davids bridal too, where they have tons of plus size dresses. I was able to get an idea of what looked good on me and what didnt.

Re: Dress Shopping?
Vanessa (Goldie) and I went last weekend and it really did help me to figure out what features I prefer on a dress. I just want to lose some weight first though. I have a feeling that I am going to be that bride that orders her dress a few sizes smaller, just as motivation to lose weight, but I probably will not actively start looking for the one until next spring.
