My mom and I went to Bridal Couture to look for bridal gowns today and they were very pushy and rude!!! I tried on a gown (supposedly all their dresses are made in Italy and France...one of a kind dresses..whatever!) and the woman assisting me told me that I was the only person who tried on this dress and didn't buy it! Like I am really going to buy the first dress I try on. This dress was $8000 but when I put it on I wasn't too impressed with it...She was like 'this is an $8000 dress, how could you not like it. You are the first person not to like it.' I was like Listen lady, I don't care if the dress is $80 or $8000, if I don't like it, I don't like it!! It doesn't impress me and I don't care if it is made in Italy. She also went on to tell me that the girls who buy dresses here have their weddings at the Plaza hotel and the Waldorf. Can anyone say stuck up? Needless to say I have heard so many horror stories with that place and now I know why. I def. won't be going back there.
Edited to add: We also went next door to the Wedding Salon and the service there was excellent!! The woman who assisted me was sooo nice and patient!! She told me to go and look around at other stores too. Her name was Mary and she was sooo nice.

Re: Dress shopping
It didn't bother me at all, I was expecting the rudeness and to be honest I really wasn't impressed with their selection of gowns.

Re: Dress shopping
UGH what is wrong with some people. Don't worry it is not like that in other stores. Have you gone to Macy's in Manhasset yet?
BTW, if you do a search on Bridal Couture, you'll see that there haven't been so many nice things said about them.

Re: Dress shopping
Thanks for the info. Marcela. I haven't tried Macys bc they don't have the designers I am looking for...I'm going to try some other places next week. It's so exciting trying on dresses though. I can't wait until I find 'the one!!'

Re: Dress shopping
If you are not far from Copaigue, I would try Lidia's on great neck rd. She is so sweet and knows her stuff. Her gowns were so clean and in great condition. I did not have a bad experience with Bridal reflections but the dresses were so dirty on the shoulders and lots of the dress zippers were broken. One I tried on looked like it was brought out from a dark corner. It was so wrinkled.
But at Lidia's, she had just got this beautiful veil in and wanted me to try it on but she wanted to steam it first. She wanted to make sure everything was perfect.

Re: Dress shopping
I feel you honey I Went a couple of years ago to get my dress for a friend of mines wedding. i went to bridal garden in Bethpage, this dress was so pretty not reaveling and covered me up which was what i wanted. I am 4'10 and not a size 2. the lady that owns the place had me standing there while she was heming the dress and said to me 'this dress is made for the 5'7 all american girl' Just cause im short not atoothpick im not 'the all american girl' You are supposed to feel beautiful in a dress not feel like crap.If i didnt already pay for it and the wedding wasnt like a week away i would have went soemwhere elses. thanks for the warnin I will not be going there. Also she said 'you are the first person to try this one on' but she also said 'you are the first person that didnt like the dress'
