Dress shopping ?

Ok so I have been to 3 places.....Two out of the three were telling me that the dress that I just so happened to like the best was 'exclusive' to them....and they would not tell me the designer name or style number. Is that typical?

The first place I went to (Village Bridal and Boutique) was awesome and she handed me a folder with all vendor info and the dresses I liked with style name and number.

What is your experiences?

I didn't get that at all..but the Attendants did not allow pictures...they were in and out of the dressing rooms so fast...
If you know your style...you can try sites like the Knot to narrow down by style or designer...
