I was curious, how long did everyone wait to start looking for dresses? I know they say you should order your dress 6 month in advance..
Also, should you buy your wedding favors after you recieve all the rsvp's back?

Im ordering my favors soon im just going to guesstimate LOL and I started dress shopping already paradise bridals told me it can take up to 8 months to get your dress in

I'm start dress hunting in January, and favor I'm researching from now - I have sooo many different ideas so I wanna make sure that what I get is def what I want my guests to have

i'm going in august for my dress...just b/c it works in my schedule better. favors don't take that long (depending on what they are) to get - you'll have a general idea pretty early on i assume...

I think it also depends on what designer dress you would like. Paradise bridals told me that Eve of Milady asks for a YEAR to make your dress. Lazaro wants at least 8 months.

at kleinfelds they want a year.. with pnina tornai, before a year is considered a rush order

I ordered my dress in October and it is true that some designers need a year!!!! My favors are already made, we are doing a donation to a charity. My mom and I did the letters already, so all we have to do is send the check around wedding time!!!!!!!!

I looked at dresses 2 weeks after I got engaged(dec.'08),..for me I needed to know what I was wearing in order to plan the rest around it lol...I ordered it 3 months after that.(March '09, it didn't come in until this May)
I'd wait to do the favors until you know how many people are definitely coming

I started dress shopping just to see what is out there. I found two that I love but I am waiting until September/October to actually purchase a gown. I want to have a little more time to lose a few pounds. I DON'T want to order an 18!!! I hate the sizing of dresses!!!
