So today was my first real outting of dress shopping. I tried on maybe 6 dresses total and the last one I feel like is THE one. How long did it take you ladies? I feel like its too soon. Is it?

I went to try on dresses for fun in March 2012 for my May 2013 wedding. I ended up finding the one and I ordered it then. So it really is up to you. After choosing my dress I never really looked at any other wedding dresses except to look for a second reception dress.

I tried on a TON of dresses. Probably closer to 30, but I also think that when you try on the dress, you'll know. If it makes you feel better, shop around a bit more. If that last dress is YOUR dress, you'll be comparing all the other dresses to it in your head. In terms of a time line, I think you're on track. I've heard to start looking as early has 12 months and to order before 6 months. I ordered at the 10 month mark, the timing worked out well. It took less than 3 months to come it. Good luck!

Yea I wanted to start lookkng because I heard with ordering and altering it can take forever. Think I might look a little more. Thanks for the input ladies!

i ordered last month for my wedding that's less than a month before yours. it's time! lol.
i did go to more places and try on more dresses, but i went back to my original fave in the end !

I tried on about 10-15. I only went to two stores and to be honest I love my dress but I can't help but wonder if there is something else out there.. I think I got so hyped up and felt the pressure to order it because of everyones reaction sometimes I just wish I would've went more places, especially because it was so much fun lol. The dress isn't going away so I say shop around and don't rush into it, you have PLENTY of time.

This is going to sound ridiculous, but i tried on between 40 and 50 dresses total and went to 4 different places.

I found 'THE' one on my second appointment but i knew i couldn't make a confident decision without trying some more on. By the time i was ready to make a decision i knew that it was definitly the one i was in love with.

My advice is don't commit right away. Go on a few appointments at different places and try on lots of different styles. Towards the end you'll know exactly what style you like best and the little details you want. The one you loved from this appointment will still be there in a few weeks. Do some more shopping around and if at the end you feel its still the one, at least youll know and won't second guess yourself!

I actually went back again today tried on the same one and didnt like it. I went from a straight plain a-line to a big poufy ballroom strapless. I think it goes perfect with my venue as weird as that sounds. The two most opinionated people in my life loved it also. Maybe ill post a picture to see what you girls think :)
