I went to Bridal Suite of Centereach. It was during a Maggie trunk show. I had my heart SET on a Maggie but none of them were the ONE LOL I walked out having purchased an Allure lol They were great, they had a nice selection.

I second Bridal Suite of Centereach! I ended up trying my dress on elsewhere and going back there to see if they had it because I loved the service and girl I worked with there! My mom just went yesterday and bought two dresses from them for mine and then my brothers weddings. Also if you see something you like but don't see it on the racks there, definitely ask. We worked with Bernadette and Elana (or Alana.. Can't remember) and they were both fantastic!

Re: Dress shopping

I love Max Bridals in Mineola, but it's a small shop, so if you're looking for a large selection, it's probably not the place for you. I worked with Courtney. She's so nice, and pulled the dress styles that I thought I liked and then pulled some that I never thought would look good on me. And to my surprise, I love one of the fit and flares that she pulled.

They only take one bride at a time and have comfy seating. I'm going back in a few days to try on the dress again before making my final decision.

I also visited Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. There was a mix up with my appointment but they sqeezed me in. Probably why it felt so rushed. Much bigger store but all of their gowns are behind sliding full length mirror doors that were all closed. NO comfy seating (as per my peanut gallery), so keep that in mind.

Good luck!

I went to David's Bridal because I'm plus size and other places only had like two hidious dresses to try on. They have a huge plus size selection and my dress looks like it's $2,000 and I spent 800 for it :)

I used Bridal Suite of Bay Shore, great selection and they were great to work with. I've been involved with about 6-7 weddings that either the bride's dress or bridesmaid dresses were from there.

I got my dress at Bridal Suite of Bay Shore and have had a great experience with them so far. Village Bridal in Babylon was also great though!

Both my sister were married last year and used Bridal Suite of Bay Shore and actually did not like the overall experience they had there. The initial visit or two were great to pick out their bridal gowns, the selection was great the women were friendly but everything after that, including Mother of the bride and groom bridesmaids, and a junior bridesmaid all had issues with service. The brides themselves felt the same way too and at one point they each came to the conclusion that most of the staff was unfriendly and not helpful with the exception of one or two girls. So anytime they had an appointment or needed to call they would just make sure she was the one they were dealing with. I wish I remembered her name...

I went to David's to get girls dresses and wound up falling in love with a dress. Exactly what I wanted. I waited and tried on at other places and went back 2 weeks later to get it at David's. Best part...first time it was $700 and when I went back it was on sale for $350!!!!

I got mine at RK Bridel in the city. I am a plus size girl and wasn't in love with any of the styles I saw on David's Bridal site. I also heard some meh things about them. I wanted to go somewhere that had a good size collection for my size.

I went to RK Bridal, tried on 6 dresses and found the one. They have a HUGE selection of everything. I say if you go there, make sure you know what you want. Printing out style numbers from their site help out a lot. My dress ended up costing me $650, which is below budget.

I went to A LOT of different places. Davids, New York Bridal Outlet & Boutique (Farmingdale), and Renates in Lindenhurts had the most variety of dresses for me.

I think so far... Village Bridal in Babylon had the best selection for me. I went to Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point and was not impressed with the selection. I went to David's Bridal and was so disappointed with the lack of help I was given. I made an appointment and no one even offered to help! NEVER AGAIN! I went to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa- and most of their dresses are in closets in their location- so there were not many to choose from and I felt they were extremely over priced compared to other places. I am still looking for other places to go to !
