Dress shopping and Matron of Honor

I asked my matron of honor if I made an appointment for this thurs, would she be able to go (this was last week) She said that was perfect so I made the appointment and asked my my mom and another bridesmaid if they would come (they all said yes.) My matron of honor just texted me now that she ordered new cabinets and they're being delivered during our appointment time thurs and that I should reschedule my appointment. You girls all know how you look forward to these appointments, should I just go with my mom and bridesmaid and tell her to come to the next one? There are so many things going on with everything now that it is difficult to reschedule things without them ending up being 2 weeks later. What would you suggest?

I wouldn't change your appointment, she can come to the next one or a fitting.

Tell her to change her delivery date or time or else she misses it. My BFF had an appt in NYC and I got my butt there and I'm in poughkeepsie-- thank goodness I went bc she found her dress that day!!

I am with Kay. People do what is important to them. That is one sign of how she will be throughout the process, you may want to rethink things. Go and enjoy!

Re: Dress shopping and Matron of Honor

I think that really all depends on how much you care if she's there when you find 'the dress' because it's very possible the first appointment can be it. Unfortunately things come up and other people don't see it as important/urgent as we do when it's our own day. If it was my MOH I'd be pissed but I'd probably reschedule because I want her there.

If it was really important to her, I'm sure she could probably make other arrangements to make it there. You shouldn't change your plans because a dress you may have found on the earlier date may not be there two weeks later or whenever you manager to make a next appointment convenient to everyone. Good luck!!

It just depends how important to you it is that she be there. If you think you would be disappointed to not share a moment with her when you possibly find your dress that day then I would reschedule the appointment. I don't know what kind of person she is, like if this is a one time thing or typical of her. But I would just make her aware how important it is to you that she be there. And if it happens again then definitely don't reschedule just for her.

Dress shopping and Matron of Honor

I went through something similar. I know for me I wanted my girls to be there and one told me I had to give her enough notice as she needs to know in advance as there was a lot going on in her life and I get it. Long story short, she is not in my bridal party let alone attending my wedding. I had to take a step back and see where I played a part in her life and to have not seen her since I got engaged I kinda know where I stand. You have to ask yourself, are you ok with her not being there? I understand people have their own lives but you did mention to her the date ahead of time. Is it possible for her to change the delivery date?
