Dress Shopping - Bad Experience

Dress Shopping - Bad Experience

We went shopping for MOB, MOG, & MOH in Lynbrook. Send me an FM if you want to know the name or more information.

I had the most unpleasant experience. One sales lady was VERY pushy and was determined to sell a dress. They told us the MOB/MOG usually buy their dress BEFORE the bridal party. I never heard of that before !
The pushy one was intent on getting over on my mother. She told us we shouldn’t have ALL come together. WHY??! So it its easier to gang up on poor mom !! She doesn’t speak English well so I guess she saw “pushover” written all over her face. My mom brought a picture of a dress she liked. Right away she said she will order for her & was rushing to write it up the order. I said WAIT A SECOND!! She is not ordering ANYTHING without seeing it or trying it on AND she wants to still look around. She only brought the picture to give you an idea what she is looking for. Every dress she tried on she looked GORGEOUS!! When my mom said she didn’t like it, she asked WHY NOT !! She was so LOUD & IRRITATING! I kept telling her she is NOT buying a dress she doesn’t like.

The biggest turn off was they require FULL payment up front before ordering. I NEVER heard of this policy in any bridal store I went to. Also there is no cap in the alternations.

I do not recommend this store to anyone.

HUH- that is ridiculous!!!! I think I know the store you are talking about, but have never been there. I would have walked out if they were that rude....or slapped the lady- whichever came first..LOL

Try Totally You in Wantagh if you havent already. My mom got her dress there for my sister's wedding. My Mom's friend Andrea works there (i think still) and she is very nice. She said all of the ladie there were very nice and helpful.

That's crazy! Good thing you got out of there without buying anything...my mom is a major pushover and would have bought something and then we would have to dealt with crazies like that for months!

i second totally you ... my FH's grandma buys all of the formal wear there and although I havent been there myself, she ALWAYS raves about it ... i will probably bring my mama there when it comes time to order for my wedding!
