this weekend we went to lillette's and a bridal store in lynbrook. I saw 3 gowns I really liked at Lillette's in Baldwin and the salesperson was really helpful and patient with me. However, I'm not sure if any of the dresses were 'the one'. Did anyone else choose a dress without crying and knowing it was the one? Well the search continues next weekend... Michelle

I didn't cry..but I did know it was the one. I didn't think that would happen...I was choosing between two that I really liked...but neither were 'the one'. Then, I made a last minute appt. at Kleinfeld's to try a dress on I'd seen on theknot.com when I first got engaged...that was it. Keep looking if you have time (and you do-I ordered my dress last month, I'm getting married July 26th) !

Re: dress shopping continued...
I must have went to about 4 bridal shops and tried on dozens and dozens of dresses. One of the last stores I went to was Valentina's (in Brooklyn) and the last dress I tried on in the store everyone ooed and ahhed and i just smiled. I was like yea its pretty.
I couldnt wait to get it off and back into my clothes as I was so tired of trying on dresses.
Then the next day its all I could think about. Its a dress made my the owner for the store so I couldnt even go on line to view it again. Then all week its all I thought about. I had to go back. I went back the following saturday and when I put it on I felt like a princess. I loved the way it looked on me and I just felt like I was Queen of the world. I didnt want to take it off.
I went back a 3rd time and i wanted to leave wearing it. I didnt want to take it off.
So it took a few times of putting that one dress on, but I think I knew it was 'the dress' when I just couldnt stop thinking about it and all I wanted to do was just put it on

Re: dress shopping continued...
we didnt leave a deposit. it will take about 6 months to make so we're not in a huge rush to leave the deposit and it wont go out of style because its made by the owner of the store
