DRESS SHOPPING - Not-so-mini Review
Hi girls! I started dress shopping, and I'm so excited I had to share.
I started the hunt with my mom yesterday. We went to Carmela's Bridal Garden in Huntington. Carmela was VERY helpful, not pushy, and had a terrific selecton of gowns. I found a gorgeous EOM dress there, but I wasn't sure if it was 'me.'
We went to see Phyllis at Bridal Elegance next. (I had to go after all those rave reviews!) Her actual store is very small, but maybe that's because they were under construction. I found a pretty Mori Lee, which I liked but didn't love. She actually handed me her business card with the style # of the dress I liked! Note to budget brides: Her prices were really affordble.
Today I stopped in Bridal Reflections in Massapequa with a friend. There were a gaggle of salesgirls working today, but very few brides actually in the store. And they were really nice! They found the gowns my sister had previously tried on, suggested a few more, and threw us in a dressing room.
When we got to the Bridal part of the store, we were a little early. And there were four or five women already trying on gowns, so we were waiting awhile. But again, the salewomen were nice. (I worked with Mary Lou). Whenever a bride tried a gown that I thought I might like, I made them write it down. This worked out better than I could have imagined... because I think I found my dress.
James Clifford (aka Jim Heljm) makes it. It's satin, A-line, with incredible beadwork across the bodice and around the hem. I fell in love. So my mom and sister and I are going next week!
