Re: Dress Shopping this sunday, what should i know???

be open minded.

if you are uncomfortable being naked in front of other people wear full coverage underwear.

the first time i went i avoided pick-ups like the plague, but the dress i fell in love with has pick-ups.

Re: Dress Shopping this sunday, what should i know???

i know there's a lot of threads about this-did you try searching?

but i think you're supposed to bring a bra, wear nude underwear you'll be comfortable in, bring shoes..

actually if you get to look at martha stewart weddings i think there was an article about this..

You're nude in front of other people? I plan on putting my dress on myself maybe having someone help me and my bra and underwear will be kept on.

Re: Dress Shopping this sunday, what should i know???

I wore boyshorts and a strapless bra. The most important thing to remember is to HAVE FUN! Also, even though a dress might not look good on the hanger - try it on anyways - the dress I bought looked like crap on the hanger and I tried it on on a whim and it turned out to be 'the one'.

to be honest i don't think you can get those gowns on by yourself. unless you have one that you can step into. all the ones i tried on have to go on over the head & mine has to be tied corset in the back.

Re: Dress Shopping this sunday, what should i know???

good luck!!!
def bring a strapless bra, try on a few dresses you normally wouldnt have, and be completely honest with your consultant about what you do or dont like about each dress cuz then theyll ger a better idea of what you want and will hopefully bring you 'the one'

i was able to step into all the ones i've tried on so far-so that part i could do myself, i just needed someone to do the back

Re: Dress Shopping this sunday, what should i know???

try on a BILLION dresses!!!

i stopped once i found 'the one' but really, i should have kept shopping/browsing.....its only ONCE that you get to go wedding dress shopping and i WISH that i would have tried more dresses on just for the experience of it.....i think i was bummed b/c my Mom and sister are out of state and couldn't come shopping with me, so it kind of put a little bit of a damper on it for me - and i shouldn't have let it get to me - if i could do it over i would have tried on 100 dresses!

Re: Dress Shopping this sunday, what should i know???

Ok first thing, have fun
second thing, wear some good coverage nude colored undies, unless you want whoever is helping you get into the dress (usually the sales lady) seeing your business...And wear a good strapless bra/corset

Re: Dress Shopping this sunday, what should i know???

I personally had an awful experience at the bridal suite of centerach. However a good friend of mine raved about it so it could have been the person that was helping me. We didn't take any pictures there...

who were u with?? im meeting with Robin???

whta im doing, though, is even if i find THE ONE, im still gonna go to another place i wanna check out, just to see if A. their prices are better, and B. their service is better

i had 2 places in mind from day 1, and just chose one at random to go to first...they both carry Maggie Sottero, which i love, so if i find the ONE on sunday, ill just write down the model number or whatever, and go to the other place a week later, and make my decision after that

let me tell you that i found Maggie dresses in Brooklyn with a price difference of $1,000. so once you find 'the dress' call around for the best price.

Re: Dress Shopping this sunday, what should i know???

Most of these places will not tell you the designer of the dress OR the style #...they want to try to get you to buy the dress before they tell you what it is...

so hopefully they'll have them, but if one of them are 'the one' then HAHA TO THEM CUZ I KNOW THE NAMES!!!! LOL

but thats really silly and not nice if they don't let u know....ill be mad then
