Today was the first day I went dress shopping!!! The day started off me frantically looking for a strapless bra...(thought I owned one but didn't).
Then I visited three bridal salons. The three bridal salons I visited were all located in Brooklyn. I learned that although this is going to be lots of fun- I don't think I'm gonna find the dress that quick! I love corset tops A LOT!! HELLO WAIST!!! hahaha I also wanted to mention that Valentina's Bridal Salon- EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Let me tell you- they have some GORGEOUS dresses there! My mom and aunt really liked one in particular, but, I never got that feeling like 'HOLY SH&&T BAALLLS...GOTTA HAVE THIS DRESS!' Yes, I'm one of those brides that has to have that feeling...lol.
Anyone else confused as to the kind of dresses they want? OHHH, I found out that eve of milady takes 10 months to come in!! Not sure if this was completely accurate though. Another thing, can the same dress be less expensive in another bridal boutique?

Re: Dress Shopping update
Never had 'The One' feeling and I tried on so many dresses
Yes you can sometimes find the same dress cheaper at a different place
I would say keep looking since today was only your 1st time going

Since you never had 'the one' feeling- what made you buy your dress and do you ever have any doubts? I'm scared that if I don't feel that- I'm gonna end up with doubts. I just don't wanna expect to feel something, when in fact I won't ever actually feel anything. ohhh, the horrors of dress shopping!! lol

Re: Dress Shopping update
I knew it was the dress to order because after I tried it on I could not stop thinking about it..I waited a week or so and brought my mom to see it..she loved it and so I ordered
Haven't had doubts..I just keep wondering if FH will like it but I guess what is most important is that I like it

Thanks for letting me know your experience. I just wanna make sure that if I don't have the feeling that it's still possible to find 'the dress'

Glad to hear you had a good time!!
It is incredibly confusing trying to choose a dress- there are WAY too many options, lol! Keep trying on different styles- even if you don't think you'll like it. You'd be surprised!
I don't think I ever got the feeling. I didn't cry, there were no rainbows, a choir of angels didn't sing on high. lol! But I put on the dress and felt like a bride. I felt beautiful and I just didn't want to take it off. I had my dress regrets later on, but on the day of, I knew that I made the right choice. I flipping love my dress!!!
As for pricing- yes absolutely a dress can be more expensive at one place than another! And as for the 10 months thing. Most bridal stores tell everyone that every dress takes 10 months to come in! They told me 9 months for my dress and it came in in 2 months! Good luck!

Re: Dress Shopping update
When I first went dress shopping, I was convinced I was going to end up with a corset back Maggie Sottero but as I started trying on different designers and styles, I started to really get a sense of what I was going for and then I spotted my dress and knew that was the one.
I'm glad you had a great first time shopping experience. Don't rush your decision and enjoy the whole dress shopping experience. It's a lot of fun.

Re: Dress Shopping update
I didn't get an AH-HA!! feeling either. I had my mind set on certain dresses, and my mother saw another girl trying on my dress and begged me to try it on as well. I did, and thought it was nice...then people started coming over and telling me how beautiful it was and whatnot, and they put a veil on me and gave me a bok to hold...and the more I stood there with the dress on....the more I realized it was the dress I wanted to wear on my wedding day. Sometimes, you have to let a dress grow on you. Sometimes it's instant love. I think it's great you had a good first experience, and you should definetly keep trying things on!!

I say keep looking. You may find that OMG dress or you may just decide that one is the best one fir you. everyone you know will give an opinion so take that w a grain of salt. everyone's taste is different and just ho with your gut in the end.
