i'm a 6-7 too, and i got a size 10 dress.... i tried it on recently (before alterations) and it fits (everywhere but the bust.)

I have a Demetrios dress too (and big boobs). My dress is 2 sizes bigger than I wear also and my measurements were all over the place too but they went with my boob size.

The past two bridesmaid dresses I ordered were 12's and I wear an 8, so yes, go with the size they tell you.

Also, keep in mind, if they order the wrong size for you, they are responsible for fixing it. If you tell them you a certain size and sign the waiver, then you are responsible if it doesn't fit.


2 sizes up is normal, though I will never understand why anyone would do that to a bride. It should reverse to help us calm our nerves.

I think I'm in the minority - they ordered my dress one size bigger than I normally am and its TOO BIG. Approximately an entire size too big! I think they do this to get you on the alterations. I know the excuse is better safe than sorry, but what bride has ever gained an entire size right before her wedding? Its a scam, IMO.

Thank you for all your responses, i feel much better now I am usually a 6-8 and ordered a 10, my dress is christos..I cannot wait for my first fitting

I am usually a size 2 to 4 depending on the clothes, and the dress I ordered is a size 8. I was worried that the dress I ordered was to big, but now I read this thread and I am relieved! Thanks Everyone!

Did anyone ever get the feeling they were ordering the wrong size just to get you with additional alterations charges? Maybe it's just me. I have started not trusting anyone anymore. (It's not good and I'm not proud of it.)

same here. Im a size 8/10, and they ordered me a 12.
