When you go dress shopping and they tell you at the store that you really shouldnt wait too long to get the dress what is too long? The first dress I found which I have money on isnt the dress for me. I found another one that I love but how long do these dresses really take to come in? I am on dress stress alert now. I keep looking and finding what i like but I feel like I am getting told 'you have time' and then 'you cant wait 'at the same time. I feel like I going crazy. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: dress stress alert!!!!!
depends on the designer, some take 6 months, others take 8-10 months and a few take about a year to come in...Find out info about the designer you like, ask other girls on here who might have the same designer how long theirs is taking to come in

Honestly it really depends on te designer. Which designers are you looking at. For instance my dress is Eve of Milady and her dresses take like 9 months to come in.

The 2 dress are Casablanca and James Clifford. I was told for the casablanca I would be able to order in oct/nov but I think thats cutting it close
I should add that its new and i havent tried the casa on yet so I may not like it. Then my dress hunt resumes

honestly if you found a dress you LOVE dont wait to order it and here is why...remember you also need time for fittings and the alterations to be done. Not only that but you see manytimes on the boards things going wrong with the dress so its better to have it in earlier so they can fix the problem rather than not having time to fix it...sometimes something is wrong on the dress or it was a little messed up during shipping somehow .

whew the last line gave me anxiety...Yipes Thats what keep running thru my head. I was at bridal reflections and a girl was so upset her dress came in and the color she ordered wasnt what she wanted.. I would die i have no idea what they did for her but Im sure it worked out. I cant deal with that. I have to see if my mom can get her $$ back from the other store before I get the other one

I think at 6 months prior they charge a 'rush' fee on some designers if they are ordered at this point. My dress takes 10 months to come in, so it should be in 2 months shy of the wedding. I too wanted to leave some time just in case something was wrong.

Don't know about James Clifford, but I was about to buy a Casablanca before I found the one that I ended up getting, and the woman told me that you're ok w/Casablanca at 6 months, but don't wait longer than that. They kept saying that Casablanca is a very consumer friendly company or whatever. But if you end up wanting the Casablanca, you're fine w/time. Hope that helps.

Re: dress stress alert!!!!!
i havent found one at all... some take 3 months to get in. i'm in total panic mode. don't freak though, it totally depends on the designer. and most you can rush order for a fee, and a lot of times the fee isnt bad at all

I think about 6-9 months, then you need some time for alts, but you can always pay the rush fee if you really need to and its something you love.
I don't know of any places to try on without apt. Maybe if you call a place that has your dress and tell them you just want to try on that one dress, they will squeeze you in for a last minute apt. Its worth a try.
