Im going dress shopping tomorrow. Just wondering what style do you have (a line, ballgown, mermaid, etc)?
What do you LOVE about that style and what made you want that style for yourself?
Was it a style you always imagined yourself wearing?
Right now I'm thinking mermaid or A line...strapless.

Re: Dress style
I had an idea that I wanted a mermaid bc it gives you the tight and sexy part and the poofy part, and that's what I got! Here's my dress (please don't quote the pic I'm taking it down since I found out my FH lurks!!)

Re: Dress style
modified a-line - it's rather straight. cap sleeves, square neckline. it is just totally me, and i can't do strapless (it gives me anxiety). i loooove my dress to pieces.

Re: Dress style
mine is a-line. i didn't want anything too poofy so i stayed away from ballgowns. I actually originally wanted something more fitted like a mermaid but when i tried on my gown and it was more aline i just felt more like a 'bride' in it.

Re: Dress style
I love a-line dresses. I also tried on and liked mermaid style dresses but didn't know if I wanted to wear something really tight and formfitting as a wedding dress.

Re: Dress style
A-line & strapless (sweetheart)
I wanted a ballgown, due to the fact that Im having a destination wedding I decided against it. Thats just too much dress for the heat

Re: Dress style
strapless A-line dropped waist.
picked cause I dont like ball gowns for myself, my style is very simple one, and b/c I thought that would be the most flattering shape on me
never thought of myself in a wedding dress, so I just asked to be shown dresses that are what I like about wedding dresses and not to be shown what I dont like, and this is what the consultant came up with

Re: Dress style
Mine is a-line all lace with beading throughout. The detail on the train is what really WOWed me.
A-line, i wanted something traditional and with poof, but with not too much poof! i figrued its the one day you can look nice in poof! it is pretty close to what i always pictured my wedding dress to be!
edit: i also knew i wanted a nice amount of sparkle, but not too much!
I envisioned myself in mermaid or trumpet, but when I tried those on, they weren't as flattering on me and I didn't feel like a bride.
So then I started looking at ballgowns. I went with a dropped waist ballgown - the ones with a natural waist made me look like a cupcake!

Re: Dress style
I had no idea what looked good, but I knew I wanted to look sexy. I started looking at mermaids and trumpets and they looked good on me! I couldn't believe it! I wound up with a strapless fit-n-flare Mermaid. Pics in my album if you're interested.
